  • If napping while at 30,000 feet is safe then a operator napping at a nuclear plant or a oil refinery should be safe as well. How about a bus driver, this article said a plane is like a bus only at 30,000 feet.

  • cynic, I completely agree with you. I also have worked for a major oil company in the refining side of the buisness. I have seen numerous mistakes done by workers who compleletly ignored the procedures that were written. They either thought the procedures were incorrect or they knew better.

  • Read the MSDS material. it lists the materials and its hazards. The dispersant name is Corexit and one of the ingredients Propylene Glycol is found in shampoos among other items. Also oil floats on water it doesn't sink. MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET PRODUCT

  • Maybe this congressman should read the MSDS on PROPYLENE GLYCOL one of the ingredients in the dispersal. You will find it on the bottle of hair shampoo you use every day. There is probably more of this going down the household sewer every day then was used in the gulf.
